Jeremy Recommends - Girl In A Coma

Note: Changing the name from Jaffa Recommends to Jeremy Recommends.

So it’s been a while since the last Jeremy Recommends; a variety of things causing that, but it’s one thing that brings me back to it today; Girl In A Coma.

Hauntingly beautiful. Those are the first two words that come to mind when trying to describe this bands style. I could say they’re reminiscent of Morrisey, Sleater-Kinney, or a gorgeous hybrid of shoegazer and riot grrrl rock; and I’d be right, I think. But that still would fail to describe the style of this band.

Hauntingly beautiful. Even that doesn’t quite cut it. There’s a powerful sense of positive energy behind the vocals, and cut-throat musicianship to match. They’re a unique force of music to be reckoned with, that much is for sure.

Signed to Joan Jett’s Blackheart Record Group, Girl In A Coma is constantly on tour. If you’re in LA make sure to check them out on the LA Pride main stage June 10th.
