Greetings fellow queer punks,
I recently wrote an article about Fall Out Boy’s new attempts to appeal to gay audiences, and what’s creepy about it, and how it ties in to the bigger picture of “selling punk” and the rise of “gays” as a demographic to be pandered to…
I’d love to hear folks’ thoughts on it!

Pretty interesting, but still I’m not 100% conviced that Pete Wentz is acting like that exclusively to have better album sales. Of course he’s not the new Henry Rollins, but the e-fight he had with that angry mom tells me more than anything that when he speaks up spontaneously, he’s more of a friend to homos than a foe.
Now I might be way off the track, but then again I think to myself that these dudes are part of our generation - a liberal, open-minded one - and that their thoughts about homosexuality come more from a sincere intention than a marketing plan.
Sorry to say it, but I really really hate Fall Out boy and the rest of the so-called “emo punk bands” that are polluting the airwaves. But, to agree with SuNDaYSTaR, yes Pete Wentz, as SuNDaYSTaR put it is… “more of a friend to homos than a foe.”
